Reviews and Ratings
The hotel was quite out of breath. The rooms were large with beautiful old furniture but looked nothing like the photographs used to advertise the suites and would not look out of place in a 2-star. The room was substantial for the price paid.
The hotel offers spacious rooms with a sofa, writing desk, separate clothes closet, and a large bathroom, overlooking a marquee and a boiler compound. While the room doesn't match the advertised photos, it provides ample space. The service was mixed, as some staff members were grumpy and rude, especially during a hot stay where the top-floor room felt uncomfortably warm with limited window openings. On the bright side, other staff members were lovely, welcoming, and helpful. The location by a lake is fantastic, though some areas, like the shower, need attention. Dining was a pleasant experience in a cozy room, with room for improvement in the buffet-style service. Overall, the hotel has its ups and downs worth considering.
My stay at Nunsmere Hall was a delightful escape into beautiful grounds, although the room decor was a bit tired. The service was top-notch, especially with Melvyn being exceptionally friendly. The location surrounded by gardens and a lake was serene, though some noise concerns. The dining experience had its highlights but lacked variety, and the overall facilities were satisfactory.
